For those of you who know Expert Safety, you’ll know we’ve been around for a long time and have had exposure to a wide variety of people, places and things. The one lesson we have learned over the years is a simple one – speed and safety do not make good bedfellows. Time and time again we become aware of dangerous occurrences, which could easily have been avoided if those involved had just taken a moment to regroup. This does not have to be a momentous stand down, a fundamental restructuring of the work or even a rewriting of the documents. In the vast majority of cases if people slow down and focus on the task at hand the accidents, incidents and near misses could be avoided. – Food for thought !
